Welcome

Brazilian Butt Augmentation modelWelcome to your Brazilian Butt Augmentation guide, which can help you become familiar with the procedure and how you can attain a satisfying result. However, it is important to understand that the information provided is in not intended to substitute your consultation with a qualified professional. As you read this, you can write down any questions you want to ask during your appointment.

Brazilian Butt Augmentation can improve the contour of the buttocks by lifting, increasing size, enhancing shape, correcting imbalances, and improving firmness. This procedure also improves overall body contour by removing fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, thighs, back, arms, chest, and neck. The best candidate for this procedure is a physically and psychologically healthy, normal-weight individual with firm, elastic skin.

Procedure

How will your Brazilian Butt Augmentation be performed?

This procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis, and can last between 90 minutes to 4 hours based on the amount of fat removed, number of areas treated, and the size/shape of the buttocks desired. The most common techniques in Brazilian Butt Augmentation include tumescent liposculpturing and autologous fat (use of your own fat) transfer to the buttocks.

Tumescent Liposculpturing

Through tiny incisions in the treated area, a tumescent fluid (mixture of local anesthetics and adrenaline) is injected to help numb the area. This helps control bleeding and reacts with your fat to make it easier to remove. The fat is then removed through a long tubular instrument called a cannula.

Autologous Fat Transfer

Autologous fat transfer means that the fat removed during the liposculpture procedure is sterile, collected, processed, and washed with a double antibiotic solution, before being placed in syringes. These are connected by tubing to a special cannula that is used to aesthetically inject the fat into the buttock muscle and deep fat tissues to give it that classic Brazilian Buttock look.

Preparation

Brazilian Butt Lift modelSome suggestions to help you prepare for surgery: Patients should be open and honest during their consultation and provide a medical history, as well as a list all of the medications, vitamins, and herbs being taken (even if they may not seem important).

Here are some tips that may help you shorten your recovery time and decrease your chances of complications:
  • Discontinue using Aspirin (including medications that contain Aspirin), Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E and other supplements as directed. These act as blood thinners and could cause excessive bruising, bleeding or other complications. We will give you a complete list of medications and herbal supplements to avoid prior to your procedure.
  • Stop smoking for at least 2 weeks before and 1 week after surgery, as nicotine can impair circulation and healing.
  • Don’t drink alcohol in excess for 2 weeks before your liposculpturing procedure and one week after the surgery.
  • Drink lots of water in the days leading up to your liposculpturing procedure.
To make your recovery easier and more comfortable be sure to:
  • Arrange for someone to take you home and take care of you for at least the first day. For out of town, national, and international patients, private nursing care, private recovery centers, and hotel accommodations can be made through our office.
  • Fill your prescriptions and place them within easy reach of where you will be resting.
  • Place plenty of pillows, a spare compression, and hand towels for drainage nearby.

Post Surgery

Some bruising, swelling and pain should be expected after your procedure. Do not be alarmed if you feel like you’ve lost sensations in the areas treated; feeling and sensation should return to normal as your nerves begin to regenerate. Swelling may linger for as long as several months. Pain medication will be prescribed to control any discomfort; however, contact us immediately if you begin to have severe pain.

Within a few days of the procedure you should be up and walking around, although the recovery process is different for everyone. It is common to have a drain placed for a day or two in order to allow excess tumescent fluid to drain; for the first day or two, you may experience blood-tinged fluid as well. As the buttocks re-vascularize the newly implanted fatty tissue, it is important that you stay off the buttocks as much as possible for the first two weeks. The best solution is to sleep on your abdomen or sides; and when you sit, try to do sit on the thighs as much as possible to take direct pressure off the buttocks. Showering can be resumed on the second or third day after surgery.

Based on the severity of your procedure, you may need to be out of work and refrain from usual activities for at least a week. Strenuous physical activities should be limited over the next 2 or 3 weeks as the treated areas may remain very sensitive. In order to help ensure a good contour, you will also need to wear a special compassion garment for up to a month. Avoid any high impact activities for about 1 month, especially jogging and bouncing activities for up to 6 weeks. You may gradually return to regular activities such as lifting, exercise, and sex a month after surgery. These steps can help avoid stress to your treated areas and allow time for healing and recovering. All liposculpturing procedures are performed using small incisions, about the length of this red line -----, so any scarring will be minimal and should fade over time.

The results of your liposculpturing procedure are usually apparent after several weeks. So long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, your treated areas should look great and retain their sculptured appearance. Changes will be evident in areas that were not treated should you gain weight.
